Cards for Hope

Our Cards for Hope project provides hand made cards and quilts of cards filled with positive, uplifting messages of hope, humor, encouragement and inspiration to children and teens who struggle with the effects of abuse, neglect, illness, or other difficulty.

Along with the many card making events we hold, we also hold supply, toy and book drives to support the organizations that serve these children.

The organizations we have supplied cards and card quilts include:

  • Olive Crest Homes and Services for Kids
Since 1973, Olive Crest has transformed the lives of
over 50,000 abused, neglected, and at-risk children
and their families. They work tirelessly to meet the
individual needs of kids in crisis by providing safe
homes, counseling, and education for both youth and
           parents.

  • My Stuff Bags Foundation
The My Stuff Bags Foundation provides new
belongings, comfort and hope to thousands of children
each year who must be rescued from abuse, neglect
and abandonment across the United States. The Card

Quilt Posters add a personal touch to the new belongings
            that the rescued children receive.

  • Miller Children's Hospital of Long Beach

  • Children's Hospital of Orange County

 Guidelines for creating cards:

· Draw or include pictures that express joy and peace.

· Include a positive message and/or a kid friendly joke

· Refrain:

        1)  from any mention of the child being “special”.

To children who have lost or suffered so much,
being “special” means being “different” when
what they want most is to have a “normal” life.
        2)  from saying, "I hope you get well," or any
              mention of a child's illness.

· Sign the card if you would like to

· Be Creative, Fun, and Loving!
