Be an Advocate for Global Child Survival
and Maternal Health

UNICEF does extraordinary work to bring humanitarian relief to children worldwide. One of their projects is to stand up for global child survival and maternal health. UNICEF depends upon funding from the U.S. Government as an essential part of their efforts to get to Zero – no child dying from causes we can prevent. Our Senators and Representatives in Washington are making decisions on appropriations to fund the Federal Government for both Fiscal Year 2011 and Fiscal Year 2012. With all the pressure to cut spending and reduce the deficit, unfortunately funding to save the lives of vulnerable children and their mothers is at risk.

U.S. Fund for UNICEF President and CEO Caryl M. Stern has been joined by the leadership of the American Red Cross, Save the Children USA, and World Vision USA in a powerful appeal to Congress to support and defend global child survival and maternal health.

Their statement will be taken to the decision-makers on Capitol Hill. Let's help them show that Americans want to maintain our Nation’s historic commitment to helping children around the world. Show your support for getting to Zero by adding your name to their joint statement. Let them know that saving children’s lives is a top priority of our foreign policy.
